Kenneth Onyebuchi Onah was well known and well liked by his neighbors at his apartment building where he resides in Gardena, California. USA.
He was shot dead on Saturday Jan. 11th, 2020 behind the security gate of his apartment building in Gardena.
According to a police lieutenant , Officers initially responded at 12:34 a.m. to the 1300 block of Marine Avenue regarding gunshots heard in the area, Gardena Police Lt. Christopher Cuff said.
Unfortunately, they did not locate any gunshot victims or any signs of a shooting, but an one hour later at 1:35 a.m., police received a call in the 15100 block of Raymond Avenue of a gunshot victim in the hallway of an apartment building, Cuff said.
Kenneth Onyebuchi Onah’s sudden death is a shocked and a huge loss to the Nigerian-community. Mr. Onah was well known in the Nigerian-American community as an easy going and well liked.
No information was available on who opened fire and no further details were immediately available.
The police is asking anyone with information to call Detective Hugo Gualotuna at 310-217-9639 or Detective Roberto Rosales at 310-217-9653.
Many in the Nigerian-American community are hoping that the Gardena police does not treat this execution style shooting of Mr. Onah as another “Black on Black crime” because Mr. Onah was not known to have any gangs affiliation.
