Same Crime, Different Punishments. The black kid got 26 yrs, White kids got two yrs. The best example of America’s racist criminal justice system

What’s True of American Racist Criminal Justice System.

The two men pleaded guilty to two counts of the same crime, had the same “sentencing total” and the same “lowest permissible sentence,” but a white judge in Florida sentenced the black defendant to 26 years in state prison while sentencing the white defendant to under two years (time already served) in county jail.

This type of disparity in arrest, police brutality, and sentencing are rampant across the country. Racial disparities have long been the cornerstone of America’s racist criminal justice .. or what some would call, “In Justice system” where Blacks and other minorities statistically more likely than their white counterparts to be arrested and charged, and to face stiffer penalties, even in exact circumstances.

Afro World News correspondent made several attempts to contact Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit judge Sherwood “Chip” Bauer who gave a black man 26 years in prison and a white man two years’ time served, for the same crime, in the same circumstances but he refused to respond to any of our questions.

As millions are demonstrating on the street against police brutality and racism, there is need to pay attention to the entire criminal justice system. The DA, Court, and judges and all active participants that continue to sustain the racist criminal justice system.
