Two Americas has emerged during the quarantine. A picture they say don’t lie. Recently, NYPD cop was caught on camera for making an arrest for social distancing, the cop was seen punching the Blackman for not wearing a mask. Now you be the judge.

This image was in stark contrast to a viral image Conde also took on May 2, showing Christopher Street Pier, on the edge of Greenwich Village, packed with New Yorkers enjoying the sun, in close proximity without masks. No officers were in sight, according to Conde. In another image Conde took at the same park on May 3, an officer is calmly passing out face masks to visitors.

A few weeks ago, there was an uproar after de Blasio broke up crowds gathering in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for a rabbi’s funeral and threatened arrests. He called out “the Jewish community,” and religious leaders accused him of anti-Semitism for his comments. He later apologized for his hurtful rhetoric but maintained that he had “no regrets about calling out this danger and saying we’re going to deal with it very, very aggressively.” But there were no single arrest nor police called to slam any single violator.

On the contrary, New Police are busy slamming and harassing African Americans in the Bronx. At times like this, when the whole world is dealing with Pandemic, you would expect that Americans regardless of Race and ethnicity find common ground. Yet RACE and community policing continue to haunt and reveal the sad reality of America and especially the terror and constant torment and harassment that African Americans have to endure.

If America MUST survive this pandemic, there must be a uniform approach to social and legal requirements. There can not be the usual double standards. It can no longer be business as usual.
